About Dr. Christina Cortez

Hello!

As a licensed clinical psychologist with extensive experience in trauma-informed care and multicultural psychotherapy, I am committed to supporting individuals as they navigate life’s challenges with compassion and expertise. My work is grounded in a deep understanding of how trauma affects the heart, mind, soul, and relationships. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space that fosters healing and growth.

As a bilingual psychotherapist fluent in English and Spanish, I incorporate a culturally sensitive approach that honors the unique layers of identity—including race, gender, and sexuality—that shape each person’s story and perspective. My goal is to empower clients with evidence-based strategies while addressing the core issues impacting their well-being.

I’ve worked in diverse settings, including adult and adolescent partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs (PHP/IOP), and I offer telehealth services to make therapy accessible for all. Whether you’re seeking support for personal struggles or relationship challenges, I’m here to guide you toward meaningful, lasting change.

My academic journey includes a Doctorate from Antioch University in Santa Barbara, a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Chapman University. My research focused on the experiences of immigrant parents raising children with special needs, earning recognition for its contributions to social justice and advocacy for immigrant minorities.
